Delhi-NCR Weather Update: Heavy Rain Lashes Capital City, Noida, Gurugram; Check IMD Forecast

Delhi-NCR Rain: The residents of Delhi and its nearby cities, including Noida and Gurugram, witnessed heavy rainfall on Saturday along with thunderstorms and gusty winds. The fresh spell of rains has provided relief from the heat and humidity by reducing the temperature. However, it has also led to waterlogging in several regions, leading to inconveniences to the commuters.

Heavy Rain Leads To Waterlogging 

The rainfall in some of the regions began in the early hours of Saturday, affecting students and the elders. The heavy downpour has also led to a significant drop in temperatures, further improving the air quality. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

Delhi-NCR To Receive More Rain

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the capital city is expected to witness more rain in the next 48 hours, further advising the residents to limit their outings. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 29 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 24 degrees Celsius.

Earlier on Friday, heavy rainfall led to waterlogging at the forecourt outside Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, with water also entering parts of the terminal building. The inclement weather also impacted flight schedules across the capital, with more than 400 flights delayed on Friday, according to data from flight-tracking website Flightradar24. 

Apart from this, the weather department also stated that heavy rainfall is likely in multiple states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

The central and eastern states, including Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, are also expected to witness moderate to heavy rain at least till September 9.
