Delhi-NCR Weather: Delhi-NCR residents have been experiencing unusual weather patterns over the past few days, marked by sudden rain, dust storms, and thunderstorms. On Saturday, parts of the national capital region witnessed light rainfall, with the day remaining cloudy and relatively cool.
The India Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert for Saturday, though only light drizzle was recorded in isolated areas. While the minimum temperature saw a slight rise, the maximum temperature dipped. Cloudy conditions are expected to continue through Sunday and Monday.
Rain accompanied by strong winds is likely to return on Tuesday, for which the IMD has issued another yellow alert. Rainfall recorded between Friday night and early Saturday included 1.9 mm at Palam, 0.3 mm at Lodhi Road, 1.9 mm at Ridge, 5.8 mm at Ayanagar, and 0.5 mm at Pitampura. However, no rainfall was recorded from the afternoon to evening, according to IMD data.
The minimum temperature settled at 20.7 degrees C, which is 1.9 degrees above normal and 1.5 degrees higher than the previous day.

Light rain and strong winds on Friday evening led to a noticeable improvement in the city’s air quality. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 137 on Saturday, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category. After March 18, the AQI had slipped into the ‘poor’ category on Friday. The city’s Air Quality Early Warning System has forecast that AQI levels are likely to remain in the moderate range over the next few days.
