Delhi Metro Project: The Central Vista area near Raisina Hill will soon be added to the metro network in Delhi. The construction work of the mega project of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will commence soon. The Central government had approved the Metro Phase 5(A) project in the last week of December.
Three New Corridors With 16 Km Length
Three new corridors totalling 16 kilometres will be developed in the 5(A) phase. The three approved corridors include RK Ashram to Indraprastha (via Central Vista), Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Airport Domestic Terminal-1, and Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj.

Delhi Metro Project Will Connect Kye Sites Near Raisina Hill
The RK Ashram Marg-Indraprastha corridor has a total length of 9.913 kilometres, with stations located at RK Ashram Marg, Shivaji Stadium, Central Secretariat, Kartavya Bhavan, Baroda House, India Gate, War Memorial-High Court, Bharat Mandapam, and Indraprastha.
What Is The Budget Of The Project?
This corridor will pass through the Central Vista area and connect all the Kartavya Bhavans. The Delhi government will spend Rs 2,337.24 crore on this project, estimated to cost Rs 9,570.40 crore. The tender process for the Shivaji Stadium to Kartavya Bhavan project has been initiated. A tender of Rs 1,024.80 crore has been awarded for civil works. This includes the construction of two tunnels from Shivaji Stadium to the Central Secretariat, one tunnel from the Central Secretariat to Kartavya Bhavan, and two underground stations at the Central Secretariat and Kartavya Bhavan.
Central Secretariat Station To Become Triple Interchange Station
Central Secretariat Station will be developed as a triple interchange station. Passengers on the Yellow, Violet, and Magenta lines will be able to change metro trains here. This project is targeted to be completed in 33 months.
Upon completion, this corridor will improve metro connectivity in Central Delhi. This will benefit approximately 60,000 employees and other residents. It will help ease traffic congestion on roads and facilitate smoother travel in Central Delhi.
