Jagran Correspondent, Delhi: In a major update for the residents of Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday launched the online portal of Delhi Lakshmi Yojana during an event at the East Delhi District Magistrate (DM) office. The eligible women will receive financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month under this scheme. As per the reports, the state government aims to provide financial assistance to over 17 lakh women through this scheme.

Lakshmi Yojana's Online Portal Launched

The chief minister announced that the eligible women can register online through dly.delhi.gov.in to avail themselves of the benefits under this scheme. The scheme has been brought to empower women by enabling them to meet their day-to-day needs with dignity, self-reliance, and financial independence.

The reports suggest that the state government has allocated Rs 5,110 crore for the scheme in the current financial year. The application process has begun through the portal, and the first instalment is likely to be released by Raksha Bandhan following the eligibility verification.

What CM Rekha Gupta Said?

CM Rekha Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, stated that the Delhi government is fully committed to the economic empowerment of women. She further stated that along with providing a financial boost, the scheme will also strengthen women's dignity, self-confidence, and self-reliance.

The chief minister further stated that the government wanted to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach the eligible women in a transparent manner. The financial assistance will be provided to ensure that the women fulfil their needs and contribute to the economic strength of the family.

The women available during the event were also given information about the application process through the portal. The chief minister further urged the beneficiaries to stay updated and avail themselves of the benefits of the scheme. She further stated that the government will launch several schemes in the coming months to provide benefits to the local residents.
