DJB Plans To Overhaul Its Billing System

Recently, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) said it would overhaul its billing operations by geo-tagging consumer properties and other billing reforms. Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, who headed a board meeting of the DJB, said people of Delhi want to pay their water bills and fulfil their responsibility.

The problem arises when someone suddenly receives an inflated bill, when a meter is not functioning, or when bills don't reach households on time, he said. The DJB plans technology-enabled meter readings with photo capture, GPS tagging for accuracy and accountability and proper bill delivery with proof of delivery.
