Delhi’s First Metro Monday: Today is the first ‘Metro Monday’, announced by the Delhi government in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to save fuel. The government has promoted Metro Monday and urged the public to abandon their personal vehicles and use public transportation. This is likely to lead to a rush on the metro. To tackle this, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will operate six additional metro trains and carry out more trips. Additionally, all 6,300 DTC buses will also be on the roads. A total of 58 buses have been deployed to transport employees from 29 government colonies to the metro station, jagran.com reported
The goal is to ensure that employees and officials can easily reach the metro station from their colonies and travel by metro. The government has also appealed to the general public to fully support the campaign. Along with officials, Delhi government ministers are also expected to travel by metro on Metro Monday.

The DMRC will deploy additional security personnel every Monday. Ticketing facilities will be enhanced and last-mile connectivity services will be strengthened.
