State Bureau, Naidunia, Bhopal: After facing a series of defeats in the state, the Congress party is finding fresh momentum in the Datia by-election. Under the changing circumstances, the party views the BJP's decision to deny a ticket to veteran leader Narottam Mishra as a massive boost to its winning chances.

Congress Bets On Youth Team For By-Elections, Shifts Focus To Micro-Campaigns

In a major strategic shift, Congress has deployed its youth team to lead its campaign for the upcoming by-election. Former minister Priyavrat Singh, who previously handled the war room during the Delhi Assembly election and led the Madhya Pradesh Congress Election Management Committee, has been handed charge of election management. He will be supported on various fronts by youth leaders Jaivardhan Singh, Sachin Yadav, and Siddharth Kushwaha, who will be responsible for contact, communication, and coordination.

Furthermore, moving away from traditional large-scale rallies, the party has opted for neighbourhood-level meetings.

Congress Candidate Ghanshyam Singh To File Nomination On Monday

Congress candidate Ghanshyam Singh is set to submit his nomination papers on Monday, July 13. Senior leaders, including State Congress President Jitu Patwari, Assembly Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar, former Leader of the Opposition Dr Govind Singh, and Rajya Sabha member Ashok Singh, will attend the event.

The Congress on Saturday nominated 72-year-old former MLA Ghanshyam Singh as its candidate for the Datia Assembly by-election in Madhya Pradesh, scheduled for July 30. Singh has served as an MLA three times, twice representing Datia and once representing Seodha constituency. In this high-stakes by-election, he is set to face Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ashutosh Tiwari.
