- AAP questioned Congress protest outside PM's residence.

The cracks in the Opposition surfaced yet again on Tuesday after Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav staged a sit-in protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) raised questions over the protest, accusing Congress of weakening the movement of the Cockroach Janta Party. In a post on X, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh accused Congress of staging a sit-in on the direction of PM Modi.
He wrote, "To weaken the CJP's protest, Modi ji made Rahul Gandhi sit on a protest at his residence."
AAP MLA Atishi Marlena called the Congress protest a manifestation of its 'jugalbandi' (collusion) with the BJP. "This is amazing! CJP and Sonam Wangchuk have been protesting at Jantar Mantar for a month. The Modi government refuses to talk to them. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi was allowed to protest outside the PM's residence. Within an hour, the Modi government started talks. Wow! What a jugalbandhi!" she wrote in an Instagram post.
Rahul, Priyanka, Akhilesh and other leaders were forcibly removed from the protest and were detained by the Delhi Police. Rahul Gandhi even sustained a minor injury below his eye while resisting the police action.
The leaders were put into the bus and taken to Chhatrasal Stadium.
CJP march to Parliament
Notably, the CJP had held a march to Parliament on Monday, the first day of the monsoon session, while Sonam Wangchuk was continuing his hunger strike in Safdarjung Hospital.
The protestors were stopped by barricading and police deployment, leading to a scuffle at a few places. The Delhi Police said that 118 police personnel while over 60 protestors were injured in the clashes.
Nearly 20 vehicles, including those belonging to police, were vandalised by the protestors. Nearly 70 protestors were detained by the police, who were released on Tuesday.
