Online satirical outfit Cockroach Janta Party's founder, Abhijit Dipte, announced on Monday that he will be returning to India on June 6, holding a protest demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation. The US student urged his followers to join the "peaceful" protest in New Delhi's Jantar Mantar area. If the protest occurs, it will mark the first time the online trends will turn into a full-fledged protest by the Gen Zs.

What Did Dipke Say

Sharing a video message on X, Dipke said that he will be heading back to India to demand the resignation of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for his failure to conduct the NEET UG and CBSE exams in a transparent manner.

"You have been seeing for so many days that we are raising our voice on social media that because of the paper leak, the children of NEET who committed suicide, and the hard work of lakhs of students that has been wasted, for that, Dharmendra Pradhan should resign," he said.

Dipke mentioned a detailed explanation of how the protest will be conducted. "I have decided that I will come to Delhi on 6th June, Saturday morning. All of you meet me at the airport. All of us will go to the Parliament Street Police Station and ask for permission to do a peaceful protest on Jantar Mantar," said Dipke.

"The time has come for all of us to come together, following the path of the Constitution of India, and peacefully raise our voices to demand Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation. If we raise our voices together, they will definitely have to listen to us," he added further.

The CJP founder stated that his friends and family are fearful that he may be arrested for his actions. "But I still hope that our country is a democracy and we will get permission to protest peacefully. I want to make it clear, I am a big admirer of Gandhi, Ambedkar, Bhagat Singh, and Nehru, and I believe in the constitution of India more than anything else, which gives us the right to raise our voice in a democracy," the CJP founder said.

Dipke, an Arizona University student, claimed that Indians should not live in fear anymore. "This country does not belong to any one party. This country belongs to all of us. It is a question of our future," he said.

How Did The Internet React?

While most youngsters appreciated the announcement and hailed his confidence and boldness. Netizens praised Dipke's approach, adding that the protest would prompt actions from the authorities, creating a mark on the power of GenZs.

“Finally someone with balls. Abhijeet Dipke is heading back to India to protest at Jantar Mantar. Respect.

Another user noted that this transition to real-world organising is exactly what the movement needs to sustain its momentum: “Doing some work on the ground like this will help beyond social media posts. It is a good step genuinely. This will also show accountability. Keeping things simple and grounded will go a long way, I believe. Good luck, Abhijeet."

Another said, You or anyone is not ready yet. "Make CJP a non-political party, which will put pressure on political parties. Commit to it. Have organization in every town and city. Mobilize them. Make a long-term strategy. Otherwise, one more ray of hope will be gone."

Respect for stepping up, Abhijeet bhai. Finally, a voice for the youth suffering from paper leaks & broken systems. The education minister must resign.

But stay safe, coordinate properly, keep it 100 per cent peaceful, and watch for any traps. Entire Gen Z is with CJP. Jantar Mantar pe milte hain 6th June."

Critics countered and mocked the move, saying no one would appear in the protest and that the CJP founder should protect himself. “Remote-control activism at its finest. Real students don’t need seasonal leaders." Another highly cynical user remarked: “Another ‘peaceful’ protest by the professional exile, timed for maximum drama. Bold strategy; let’s see if the cockroach survives the return flight."
