Hundreds gathered at the protest site on Monday after the Cockroach Janata Party led its "Chalo Sansad" march, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra over alleged exam irregularities and the NEET paper leak.

The protest, led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar, is now making a significant impact not only on the streets but also across digital platforms.

Several videos related to the movement have been continuously trending on social media platforms such as X, Instagram, and Facebook.

While many supporters have been actively expressing solidarity with the protest, authorities say that misleading claims and edited fake videos are also being circulated with the intention of disrupting public order. The spread of such content has raised concerns among the police and security agencies.

CJP Protest Sees Allegations of Pellet Guns, Nail-Studded Batons

On Monday and Tuesday, the Delhi Police identified several fake claims and videos circulating on social media. According to the police, allegations regarding the use of pellet guns and nail-studded batons, claims that thousands of students were confined inside stadiums, accusations of misconduct with Sonam Wangchuk's wife and other women, and reports of a 12-year-old girl suffering a head injury are completely baseless.

The Delhi Police dismissed at least nine major claims shared by various social media handles, including those of CJP spokesperson Saurav Das, Alt News' Mohammed Zubair, and AAP leader Sanjay Singh, describing them as false and misleading. The investigation found that several videos shared by protesters were either old or from different locations and were being circulated out of context.

To curb the spread of misinformation and old video clips circulating on social media, the Delhi Police's IT Cell and other government agencies are maintaining round-the-clock surveillance. In addition, misleading posts are being continuously debunked through PIB Fact Check.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Delhi Police wrote, "Rumours circulating on social media claiming casualties in the reported incident are false.

No casualty has taken place. Citizens are requested not to believe or share unverified information. Please rely only on official sources for authentic updates."

The police have appealed to citizens not to share any unverified content and to rely only on official sources for authentic information. They have also warned that strict legal action will be taken against anti-social elements found spreading rumours.
