PM Modi has also been on Instagram since 2016. However, no dedicated reel was uploaded for Instagram. While most Gen Zs are active only on Instagram, a senior official said that these Gen Zs don't listen to long speeches, watch long videos, or read newspaper articles or advertisements. They express their views and communicate with each other through short Instagram reels. Through these Instagram reels, youth are connected with each other during the paper leak protest and were successful in creating a nationwide atmosphere for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation.
Youth who reached Jantar Mantar also proved that they can move beyond social media and lead ground-level protests. Following the large number of Gen Zs present during the Parliament March on July 20 and their persistence at Jantar Mantar in the heat and humidity, Prime Minister Modi established a direct dialogue with them on Thursday by posting a Reel on Instagram, in which he announced the enactment of strict laws against paper leaks and punishment for the culprits.
PM Modi's Reels Get Huge Response From Gen Z
Addressing Gen Z friends, he extended a hand of friendship and assured them of streamlining the entire examination system. This reel was viewed and liked by over 30 million people.
Following the encouraging and positive response from youth, the Prime Minister thanked him by making a reel on Friday. This too was viewed and liked by over 9.3 million people.
Instagram was flooded with reels linked to the Prime Minister's short videos, which were also liked by millions. The government, and especially the Prime Minister, is preparing to further expand this dialogue with Gen Z.
