"Constitution Right, Not Charity"

Emphasising that reservation is a constitutional right rather than charity, Paswan said: "I had clearly stated in the country's Parliament on 10 February 2020 as well that reservation is not charity given to anyone, but a constitutional right."

The LJP (Ram Vilas) chief reiterated his party's full commitment to social justice and protection of constitutional values, dismissing any possibility of reviewing the existing reservation system.

"My and my party Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas)'s thinking is absolutely clear—let alone ending reservation, even a review of reservation is something we will never accept," he stated.

RHA Protesters Claim Govt Agreed To Discuss Demands

This comes a day after the 'Reservation Hatao Andolan' (RHA) protesters claimed that the central government has agreed to discuss their demands for reforms to the caste-based reservation system. According to the group, a Union Minister will "personally" hold talks with the protesters.

RHA, an Instagram-based campaign with around 5.6 million followers, said on X, "The government has agreed to discuss the demands of the activists of the reservation reform movement. Harsh Bhai has informed that a central minister will personally hold talks with the protesters."

The group also suggested including right-wing influencer Ajeet Bharti and author Anand Ranganathan, among others, in the proposed discussions.

"It is hoped that @ajeetbharti, @neha_laldas, @ARanganathan72, and others will also be included in this discussion. They can present these issues with much greater clarity and strength through their arguments and data," it added.

The RHA, however, stated that its movement has not ended.
