Census 2027: In a major update, the government has advised the residents to stay cautious while participating in the national census. It asserted that the residents should distinguish between legitimate data collection and potential fraud, adding that they should not share sensitive financial and personal information. Apart from this, the government has also advised the residents to register a complaint on the Sanchar Saathi app in case of any forgery.
The census is being conducted to collect key details of the country, including population, sex ratio, per capita income, and wealth holdings. The cases of digital scams have significantly increased in the past few years. This is critical for the citizens to be aware of the details of the census to successfully recognise any such attempt.
