Naidunia Correspondent, Bhopal | A woman and her family have alleged mental harassment after rejecting a proposal made through a matrimonial site in Bhopal. The family claimed that a man from Udaipur, Rajasthan, harassed her in various ways to take revenge after she refused to marry him.
Family Rejects Marriage Proposal After First Meeting
According to the victim's family, they contacted the man through a matrimonial site in June 2025. After the conversation, he came to Bhopal, but the family found that his behaviour was unusual during the first meeting. Subsequently, the family rejected the relationship next month.
The family alleged that the accused then began harassing the woman through persistent phone calls, obscene messages, and internet media.
Booked Over 100 Cabs On Woman's Address
About seven months later, in January 2026, he allegedly adopted a new method of harassment. It is alleged that the accused, using a fake ID, booked over a hundred Ola, Uber, and Rapido tickets at the girl's address, resulting in a sudden influx of vehicles in the neighbourhood.
Fake Wedding Cards Sent To Her Families
Following this, it is alleged that the young man, using artificial intelligence (AI), created photographs of himself and the girl. Based on these photographs, fake wedding cards were printed and distributed in the colony through local hawkers. The family also alleges that fake obscene photographs of the girl were circulated to residents.
Victim Reaches MP Women's Commission
The victim filed a complaint at the Ashoka Garden police station in Bhopal. The family alleged that the police initially did not take the matter seriously. Later, after the intervention of senior officials, an FIR was registered, but the accused was not arrested.
Troubled by the constant threats, the victim complained to the Madhya Pradesh Women's Commission. Commission Secretary Suresh Tomar, describing the matter as serious, assured strict legal action against the accused.
