West Bengal's newly elected Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari attended his first cabinet meeting on Monday at the Nabanna in Kolkata. In the meeting, he announced six key decisions of the government.

Key Decisions Made By The BJP Govt

Green Signal To Border Security: Adhikari gave a formal approval to transfer land to the BSF for fencing the border with Bangladesh. According to the Bengal CM, the land will be handed over to the BSF within 45 days.

Officers Can be Trained Outside State: The CM changed the previous policy to allow IAS, IPS, and WBPS officers to be sent to other states for training.

Job Recruitment: Adhikary announced a five-year age relaxation for candidates who missed recruitment opportunities in the past years.

Legal Changes: The CM directed the immediate implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in the state.

Rights to displaced persons: A decision was taken to grant land rights to refugees and displaced persons.

Additionally, the CM also promised the benefits of Ayushman Bharat to the state. “PM Jano Arogya Yojona and all PM schemes will start here immediately," said Adhikari. "Our government is committed to building a responsible, transparent, and people-oriented administration. The primary priority of the government is to ensure the safety and peace of the people of the state," added Adhikari.

Adhikary Held Meeting With State Police

Adhikari received a Guard of Honor at Nabanna. The new Chief Minister was welcomed at Nabanna by Chief Secretary Dushyant Nariyala and State DGP Sidhinath Gupta. Kolkata Police Commissioner Ajay Nand and other police and administrative officials were also present.

Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Khudiram Tudu, and Nishith Pramanik were present at the meeting. Their departments have not been assigned yet. Several department secretaries and officials were also present. At 4 pm, the Chief Minister will meet the winning BJP candidates at Nabanna.

Adhikary revealed that he also held a discussion on the state's law and order with Chief Secretary Mr. Dushyant Nariyala (IAS), Home Secretary Mrs. Sanghamitra Ghosh (IAS), State DGP Mr. Sidhinath Gupta (IPS), and Kolkata Police Commissioner Mr. Ajay Nand (IPS).
