A murder case has been registered against 12 named persons on Friday morning in relation to the murder of the BJP OBC Morcha district social media coordinator, Vinod Kumar. Police have arrested four people, and raids are ongoing to apprehend the remaining accused.

Vinod Kumar was murdered in Dehradun's Bairagiwala village, situated under the jurisdiction of Sahaspur police station, Vikasnagar. The alleged murder has led to communal tensions in the village. Hindu organisations are protesting, and houses of some of the accused are reported to be vandalised. Stone-pelting also took place, after which the police force and PAC forces were deployed.

Bulldozer action

Following this, police and administrative officials reach the village with bulldozers and identify the property of some accused persons before initiating the demolition work. According to a complaint registered by Ashok Kumar, the brother of the deceased, the conflict took place in an earlier incident over water sharing of a neighbour's farmhouse of Imtiaz, son of Shamshu. 

He added that on Saturday between 6 pm and 6:30 pm, a group including Razzaq, Imtiaz, Aman, Yunus, Shahbaz, Sharafal Ali, Masoom, Adil, Shamoon, Salman, Javed and another 30-35 men reached the home of the deceased, with lathis, planks, wooden sticks, a hammer, shovels and a large hammer.

CM Dhami Issues Warning

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a firm stance on the matter. He said that any violent mindset that attempts to disrupt the peace and social harmony of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand will not be spared at any cost.

BJP Leader Killed, 3 Persons Injured

As per the complaint, during the said period, the armed people started a targeted attack on the people, Vinod Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Rajesh Kumar and the wife of Ashok Kumar, Sushma. 

The deceased, Vinod Kumar, was beaten up with a hammer during this attack and died due to the injuries. The other three, Ashok Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, and Sushma, are under medical care and have been sent to the nearest government hospital for treatment.
