Correspondent, Sahebpur Kamal (Begusarai): In a devastating road accident, four police personnel, including three sub-inspectors serving as station house officers (SHOs), lost their lives late Thursday night when their speeding vehicle rammed into a stalled truck on National Highway 31 (NH-31) near Bakhadda Dhala, under the jurisdiction of the Sahebpur Kamal police station in Bihar's Begusarai district.

All the policemen were returning after taking training from Patna when the tragedy struck.

According to preliminary reports, the impact of the collision was so severe that the front part of the SUV was completely damaged and the policemen riding in it were seriously injured. Three personnel died on the spot, while the fourth succumbed to critical injuries during treatment at a local hospital.

The deceased police officers and their driver have been identified as:

- Sub-Inspector Sajan Kumar Paswan (SHO, Ratwara Police Station) - Native of Katihar

- Sub-Inspector Gyanendra Amarendra (SHO, Arar Police Station) - Native of Kaimur

- Sub-Inspector Neeraj Kumar (SHO, Belari Police Station) - Native of Dehri, Rohtas

- Jyotish Kumar (Private Driver) - Resident of Udakishunganj, Madhepura

Upon receiving the alert, a team from the Sahebpur Kamal police station rushed to the site and managed to extricate the bodies from the vehicle. The bodies were subsequently sent to the Sadar Hospital in Begusarai for post-mortem examinations. Authorities have launched a formal investigation to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the crash.
