Bhopal: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) recovered and returned a bag containing valuables worth approximately Rs 8 lakh to a female passenger who had left it behind on the Mahakaushal Express. The bag contained gold jewellery, cash, and other personal belongings.

What Is The Incident?
Speaking to Naidunia, RPF Inspector Rajendra Kumar stated that on the night of June 8, information was received from the Satna RPF and Nayagaon police station that a female passenger had left her bag on berth 23 of the H-1 coach of train number 12189 (Mahakaushal Express).
Acting swiftly on the information, Sub-Inspector Vinod Kumar Mishra, Constable Rajjan Prasad Pandey, and Female Head Constable Gauri Tudu reached Chitrakootdham Karwi station to inspect the coach. The team recovered the bag from the berth and brought it safely back to the RPF station for further procedures.
Why Did The Woman Leave Her Bag Behind?
An investigation revealed that the bag belonged to Suman Dixit, a resident of Barkheda Pathani, Bhopal. She has boarded the train but got off early at Jaitwara station after feeling unwell, leaving her belongings behind in the rush.
Upon searching the bag, officials found five gold ornaments weighing 45 grams, a 10-gram gold ring, a pair of earrings, Rs 50,000 in cash, medicines, and various other items. The total value of the recovered items is estimated at Rs 7,95,586.
Following the necessary procedures, the RPF returned the bag to the female passenger.
