Bengaluru Weather Update: A sudden rainfall on Wednesday night led to chaos in Bengaluru, leading to the death of 10 people and overflooding of the key roads. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the city is likely to witness more rain for the next two days. Along with rain, the garden city is also expected to receive strong surface winds and thunderstorms. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.
The residents of Bengaluru are set to witness rainfall at least till May 3, providing relief from the rising heat. The continuous rainfall is expected to reduce the temperature by two to three degrees Celsius. However, it is also likely to lead to waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences, especially to the commuters.
While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 33 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 21 degrees Celsius. However, the weather department has warned that the temperature will surge in the second week of May. It further stated that the capital city of Karnataka is expected to witness more than the usual heat this year.
Along with Bengaluru, several other districts of Karnataka, including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Bagalkote, Koppal, Dharwad, Gadag, Ballari, Vijayapura, and Belagavi, are set to witness moderate rainfall till May 4. The weather department has advised the fishermen of the coastal regions to follow the guidelines and limit their financial activities during the rain to avoid any inconveniences.
Earlier on Wednesday, the wall of Bowring Hospital in Shivajinagar collapsed due to the heavy rainfall, leading to the tragic death of seven people. The authorities informed that streets around several regions, including MG Road, Indiranagar, Koramangala, Silk Board, Banashankari, and BTM Layout, witnessed waterlogging.
