Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to address the concerns of students, saying they deserved an apology from him and not his forgiveness.
"The students of India don't need his apology. They deserve his," Rahul Gandhi said, reacting to the Prime Minister's alleged remarks, in which he had asked the students to "forgive" him for their alleged comments against him.
Rahul Gandhi met and consoled the families of students who committed suicide due to the NEET paper leak in Mahabalipuram, near Chennai.
It is painful to see parents suffering the loss of their children
Rahul said that there is nothing more painful than seeing parents suffer the pain of losing their children and after the death of every young person, his family is left with a lifelong pain.
Exams cancelled and years of preparation wasted overnight
He said that repeated paper leaks, cancellations of exams, and years of preparation being ruined overnight have exposed the state of the education system. He said that students are being asked to work honestly in a system that is not even honest with them.

He criticized the Prime Minister for failing to meet with any of the grieving parents or students whose futures were ruined by the paper leak. He said the central government had failed to understand the pain of the students and their families.

Delimitation to disenfranchise
Gandhi also criticised delimitation attempt. He said that it is designed by the BJP to disenfranchise the people of Tamil Nadu and take away power from them.
"Bid to take away power from Tamil people a BJP conspiracy," alleged Gandhi in Chennai. Giving a call for unity to the regional Tamil parties, Gandhi said, "Every single Tamil party, national party should defeat delimitation in Parliament."
