"It has been a matter of great pride and privilege to serve the party. I remain deeply inspired by the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and the ideals of nationalism, patriotism, and service to the nation that the BJP upholds. These values have guided me throughout my journey and will continue to do so," the letter read, shared on X.
"This decision has come after careful thought and is not without sadness. I am sincerely grateful to all party leaders, office bearers, and karyakartas at both the national and state levels for their guidance, support, and encouragement during my tenure.I respectfully request you to accept my resignation and relieve me of my responsibilities," it added.
Annamalai's Exit No Loss For Party: Tamil Nadu BJP chief
Reacting to the exit of Annamalai, state chief Nainar Nagenthran said his exit will not be a loss to the party. Annamalai's decision to quit the party and launch his own outfit would not be a setback to the BJP, he asserted.
"There won't be any setback to the BJP, which is the biggest party in the world. The party will remain steadfast on its ideology," Nagenthran told reporters. On Annamalai's decision to launch his own political party, Nagenthran said everyone was free to start a political party in a democracy.
The allegation that importance was not being given to the state was incorrect as whenever Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited any country, he spoke about Tamil Nadu, its heritage and greatness, the BJP president said.
