Veteran Tamil film producer K Rajan reportedly died by suicide on Sunday after jumping from the Adyar bridge in Chennai. He was 85 years old. The sudden news has left the Tamil film industry and its fans deeply shocked. Known for his outspoken personality and long contribution to cinema, Rajan worked in several fields, including film production, acting, writing, and direction, during his decades-long career in the entertainment industry.

K Rajan played an important role in Tamil cinema and earned recognition for working in multiple creative fields. He started his journey as a producer in 1983 with the film Brahmacharigal. Over the years, he produced several movies, including Doubles, Aval Pavam and Ninaikatha Naalillai.
Apart from producing films, he also stepped into direction and screenwriting. In 1991, he made his directorial debut with Namma Ooru Mariamma, starring Sarathkumar and actor Nizhalgal Ravi. Later, he directed Anarchigal in 2005 and also wrote stories for films like Thangamana Thangachi.

K Rajan Worked As An Actor Too
K Rajan also appeared in several Tamil films as an actor. Some of his notable acting projects include Michael Raj, Sonthakkaran, Veetoda Mappillai, Pambu Sattai, Thunivu starring Ajith Kumar and Bakasuran, directed by Selvaraghavan.
Known For Controversial Statements
Rajan often remained in the headlines for his controversial public remarks during cinema events. In 2001, he was reportedly arrested following allegations of attacking fellow producer Keyaar.
In later years, he made headlines for criticising several film personalities, including Kamal Haasan, Dhanush, Nayanthara and others.
