Pakistani actress and television host Shaista Lodhi is currently trending across social media after opening up about a family disagreement. The actress recently shared a story about how a romantic scene in one of her TV dramas led to an awkward conversation with her mother and her relatives in India. She revealed that the controversy started because of a scene in the television series Pardes.
Why Is Pakistani Actress Shaista Lodhi Going Viral On Social Media?
In the show, she shared a bedroom scene with the male lead, which depicted a husband and wife having a normal conversation while sitting on a bed. While Shaista Lodhi viewed it as a simple family scene, her mother was unhappy after receiving phone calls from family members living in India.
Pakistani actress Shaista Lodhi explained that her mother asked her, "What kind of drama are you doing?" The actress joked that her Indian cousins had called her mother to complain about the scene. Her mother told her that the relatives specifically objected to her being shown on a bed, saying that no matter what she does on the show, she should not be filmed sleeping or lying down.

Who Is Shaista Lodhi?
Shaista Lodhi is a well-known face in Pakistan with a very interesting background. Before becoming a star, she earned her MBBS degree from Jinnah Sindh Medical University and is a qualified doctor. She began her career as a VJ in 2001 and became famous for hosting the morning show Utho Jago Pakistan between 2010 and 2014. However, her hosting career faced a major setback when the show was stopped due to a blasphemy controversy, which forced her to leave the country for a short time for her own safety.
Shaista Lodhi made her official acting debut in 2016 with the serial Wada. Since then, she has appeared in many popular shows and reality programs.
In her personal life, Shaista Lodhi has been married twice. Her first marriage was in 1999 and ended in divorce in 2012; she has three children from that relationship. In 2015, she married Adnan Lodhi and settled down again.
