The criticism and trolling took a new turn when fake AI-generated videos of Mouni Roy began to go viral. Her face was warped in these clips, with edited cheekbones and elevated eyebrows, among other exaggerated features. Speaking with Zoom, Mouni Roy addressed the issue.

Mouni Roy said, "Till date, sometimes I see those AI videos, and suddenly you feel… It’s so cringe… and it’s yourself, right? When I see my face distorted over someone else’s body, it’s disgusting. What do they want to achieve with it? All they are collecting are people’s curses and bad wishes."

Mouni Roy acknowledged that she used to be so bothered by the trolling that she would take immediate action against the offending users. "Initially, when I’d come on Instagram, and I’d get a lot of hate, I’d actually make the effort of going to their profiles and blocking them… Now I feel very pitiful. You should pray for them."
