Urmila Matondkar's ex-husband, Mohsin Akhtar Mir, confirmed his marriage to Nidhaa Bhatt on Instagram on Sunday. The wedding announcement happened almost two years after rumours of his separation from the seasoned Bollywood actress first appeared.

Urmila Matondkar's ex-husband shared a number of lovely photos from the wedding, along with a heartfelt message to his new wife. The wedding pictures offered glimpses of the couple celebrating their special day surrounded by love and blessings. While announcing the new chapter of his life, Mohsin spoke about patience, healing and trusting God's plan.

"Pure intentions, honest love, and a heart full of sabr and shukur. Keep your soul pure, heal along the way, and trust that Allah’s script is always better. In His perfect time, my gorgeous wifey @nidhab_ ,he rewarded me with your sincerity and blessed me. You brought light in my life. So thank you my love (sic)," read the caption.

Additionally, Mohsin Akhtar recalled a person he affectionately called Mouji and stated that he felt her blessings had led him to this fresh start. "And thank you, Mouji, for looking after me from the other side of the world. I know it’s your blessing and your love for me that came like this. Today I know you will be more at peace. I miss you more than I could ever imagine, and I love you. Keep us in your prayers."

Urmila Matondkar first connected with Mohsin Akhtar Mir, a Kashmiri model and businessman in 2014 at the wedding of designer Manish Malhotra's niece. They got married in a small ceremony on February 4, 2016. In fact, Manish was one of the few well-known people in attendance at their private wedding when the couple decided to get married. 

Urmila Matondkar and Mohsin had a Nikah after they visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The reports of marital problems first appeared in 2024. The actress reportedly filed for divorce in a Mumbai court in September that year, according to media reports.

The veteran Bollywood actress is known for movies like Rangeela, Judaai, Satya, Kaun, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Bhoot, and Ek Hasina Thi. She was last seen in the 2018 comedy thriller, Blackmail.

Urmila Matondkar appeared as a judge on DID Super Moms Season 3 in 2022, although this was not a full-fledged acting role. There has been constant talk about her leaving Bollywood since she last starred in a movie over five years ago. But the perception doesn't affect her.

Urmila Matondkar discloses that she is currently receiving fascinating offers in an interview with the Hindustan Times. The actress, who is preparing to make her OTT platform debut, said, "It’s just about time to get back onto the sets and get rocking again."
