Zakir Khan is one of the most beloved stand-up comedians in India, famous for his ‘Sakht Launda’ phrase. He has gained a huge fan following over the years. Recently, his fans were concerned about his health issues after he announced his break from standing up in January 2026, as there were reports that he was dealing with some serious health issues. However, Zakir Khan has now revealed the reason for his absence from live performances.

During a recent public interaction, Zakir clearly dismissed these claims. He said that while he does have minor health issues, they are not serious at all. He even joked that the things written on the internet were completely false and exaggerated.

Zakir explained that the real reason for his break is work. He said that he has been wanting to focus on writing projects for the last six years, but never got enough time because of his busy tour schedule.

In a video shared by traveltrikrum, one person asked Zakir during a public interaction, “ye jo break le rahe hain, iski kya kahani hai bhai bahut logo ko jawab dene padte hain. ” To this comedian replied, “Break ki kahani dosto ye hai ki mere paas writing ka bahut kaam aa gya tha, jo mai pichle 6 saal se kar nhi paa rha tha.”

Talking about his health, he said, “Health thodi si hi khrab hai, bahut jyada khrab nhi hai. Tumne jo internet pe padha hai wo jhooth hai. Mai age -20 me hu. Likhne wale bhi ghatiya hain, likh de rahe hain, a very close family source said this. Bhai meri family mere sath rehti hai. Hum sab bhi ek dusre ka muh dekh rahe hote hain ye kisne bola. ” 

Listening to this audience and their fans present there, started happily clapping and hooting. At the end, he said, Jabtak zinda hoon, aapki khidmat mein hoon (I am at your service till my last breath).

Zakir Khan Announced His Break During Papa Yaar Tour

Earlier in 2026, during his performance at the Papa Yaar Tour in Hyderabad, Zakir told the audience that he may leave the stage for the next three to five years, maybe until 2030. He also opened up about his genetic illness in a conversation with Gulf News, and he has damaged his body and wants to take a break to balance his health as well as his family responsibilities. However, he also said that he will never leave his fans and will continue to entertain them in other ways.
