Shape of Momo is becoming well-known and winning major awards. The film won the prestigious Grand Jury Prize for Best Feature at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. It was praised for its complex narrative and insightful portrayal of a woman negotiating identity, tradition, and autonomy. It was directed by a first-time filmmaker, Tribeny Rai.
The jury, which included notable individuals including Caroline Libresco, Juan Pablo González, and Farhad Ahmed Dehlvi, praised Shape of Momo for creating a protagonist who lives in a 'grey area between righteousness and humility'.
The feature jury told Variety, "We are honoured to award the Grand Jury Prize to a debut film that deftly creates a protagonist who inhabits the grey area between righteousness and humility, and delicately charts her journey through the complexities of class and gender in a place steeped in tradition."

What Is Shape of Momo All About?
Shape of Momo tells the story of Bishnu, a young woman who leaves her job in Delhi to return to her roots, amid the serene yet elaborate backdrop of a Himalayan village. As she encounters society expectations and deeply ingrained patriarchal standards, her return swiftly transforms into an emotional and psychological investigation. The film's distinctiveness comes from its refusal to romanticise rural life in favour of providing an honest and frequently difficult viewpoint on the difficulties faced by women in conventional settings.
