Kartavya OTT Release Date: Shah Rukh Khan-backed action thriller Kartavya is officially set to premiere on OTT. According to recent reports, the crime drama starring Saif Ali Khan in lead, will make its debut on streaming platforms by mid-May, marking one of the most anticipated digital releases of 2026.
According to areport in Variety India, the film is directed by Pulkit and is scheduled to premiere on Netflix India from May 15. The narrative follows the life of a dedicated police officer who finds himself trapped in a complex web of corruption and crime. Saif Ali Khan takes the lead as an officer struggling to maintain his moral integrity, which eventually leads to a dangerous threat against his own family.

The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, owned by Shah Rukh Khan. This project marks a significant professional reunion between Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan after 23 years, their last major outing being the iconic Kal Ho Naa Ho. The movie also features Rasika Duggal, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Manish Chaudhari and Saurabh Dwivedi.
For Saif Ali Khan, this project marks his return to the cop genre on Netflix nearly seven years after the massive success of Sacred Games, where he famously played Inspector Sartaj Singh.

Saif Ali Khan’s Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Saif Ali Khan has another major Netflix project lined up titled Hum Hindustani. Directed by Rahul Dholakia, this historical drama is based on India’s first general election and features Saif in the pivotal role of Sukumar Sen, India's first Chief Election Commissioner. On the theatrical front, he will be seen in Haiwaan. Directed by the legendary Priyadarshan, the film also stars Akshay Kumar.
