Bollywood actor Ranvir Shorey has expressed disappointment over Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation after the students' protest in Delhi's Jantar Mantar. Ranvir clarified that he believed Dharmendra Pradhan should have resigned earlier.
The actor added that the decision coming only after prolonged street protests sent the wrong message about whose voices are heard. Responding to X user, Shorey said, "And in one swift move the Modi govt has managed to win over none of its enemies, and disenchant a lot of its supporters. #masterstroke."
Ranvir was asked if Pradhan's resignation was right. He noted, "Yes, but should have done it before the streets were held hostage. Now it seems supporters will not be heard, but “cockroaches” on streets will!"

Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation on X and wrote, "Keeping in mind that anti-national forces should not take advantage of the situation that has arisen at Jantar Mantar and across the country, that the unity of the nation remains intact, that the future of even a single student of India does not get entangled in legal complications, and that our children devote their time to studies and focus on building their careers -- I have submitted my resignation to Hon'ble Prime Minister."
