The much-awaited teaser of the pan-India film Raja Shivaji is finally out, giving audiences a glimpse into the grand vision of Riteish Deshmukh. The film, based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, has been a dream project of the actor for years. With a powerful cast and strong emotional storytelling, the teaser has already created excitement among fans eager to witness this historical epic.

Raja Shivaji Teaser Offers A Grand First Look

Riteish Deshmukh shared the teaser on social media, expressing his deep respect for the legendary warrior king. He wrote, “A decade-long dream to pay tribute to India’s greatest warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj… He isn’t just a king, he is our identity.” The teaser reflects devotion, pride, and a sense of responsibility towards presenting this historical story on a grand scale.

Strong Cast And Character Glimpses

The film features Riteish Deshmukh in the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, while Genelia Deshmukh plays his first wife. Sanjay Dutt appears as the antagonist Afzal Khan, adding intensity to the narrative. Bhagyashree takes on the role of Jijabai, Shivaji’s mother, while Vidya Balan is expected to portray a key yet undisclosed character.

Who Was Chhatrapati Shivaji? 

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a great Maratha warrior king and founder of the Maratha Empire in the 17th century. Known for his bravery, leadership, and strategic skills, he fought against powerful rulers and established a strong kingdom based on justice, good governance, and respect for all communities. 

Film Raja Shivaji is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2026, in theatres. The film is set for a pan-India release in Marathi, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
