The autopsy report on the mortal remains of actor Nana Patekar has confirmed that he died following a heart attack caused by a blood clot in a coronary artery, a senior doctor at the state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) said on Sunday.
The findings were shared following the post-mortem examination conducted at the hospital, which was responsible for determining the cause of death.
According to the doctor, the report identified a cardiac event linked to the blockage of blood flow through a coronary artery as the cause of death.

The postmortem report cites the cause of death as "acute myocardial infarction due to left main coronary artery thrombosis secondary to atherosclerotic occlusive coronary artery disease, a natural cause of death".

Nana Patekar died on October 8, 2026. Despite 45 minutes of CPR, Patekar could not be revived and was declared dead at 5.10 am. His body was taken to GMCH for an autopsy before his son, Malhar, transported it to Pune and then to the family farmhouse in Donje village, where he was cremated with full state honours.
