Karisma Kapoor’s Ex Mother-in-Law Accuses Priya Kapur Of Blackmail In Late Son Sunjay Kapur's Property Dispute

A fresh controversy has emerged around Karisma Kapoor’s former husband and late businessman Sunjay Kapur. His second wife, Priya Kapur, is facing serious allegations from his mother, Rani Kapoor. The dispute centres on property matters and control over a family trust. The issue has also gained attention due to its connection with Karisma Kapoor and her children, who are also fighting for their inheritance rights.

Priya Kapur reportedly has removed her mother-in-law, Rani Kapoor, from the RK Trust, which is a family-run entity associated with the assets of deceased Sunjay Kapur. This action has caused a serious feud between the family members, with Rani Kapoor questioning the decision made by Priya. She claimed that the trust belongs to her and was created by her late husband.

Rani Kapoor Levels Serious Allegations Against Priya Kapur 

Speaking about the issue, Rani Kapoor made strong claims against Priya. She said, “I was very close to my son Sunjay. He never went on vacations without me and never left me alone. I don’t know how she managed to blackmail him and convince him.”

She also added, “Sunjay married two good women from respected families. He had two children with Karisma, and I remain connected with them. He also had a child with Priya, whom I will take care of.”

Rani Kapoor further asserted her authority over the trust, saying, “The trust belongs to our family. It is in my name. Can she remove me? Let her do what she wants. Maybe she wants to remove me from this world to take everything. But this was created by my husband, and everything belongs to me.”

Legal Battle Over Property Continues

Meanwhile, Karisma Kapoor’s children are already involved in a legal case at the Delhi High Court regarding Sunjay Kapur’s property. They have accused Priya Kapoor of tampering with his will. This ongoing dispute has added another layer of tension to the already complicated situation.

Sunjay Kapoor (age 53) passed away on June 12, 2025, after suffering a fatal heart attack while playing polo in London. Early reports suggested he might have swallowed a bee during the game, but a postmortem confirmed natural causes, citing left ventricular hypertrophy and ischemic heart disease.
