Neetu Kapoor and Kapil Sharma starrer Daadi Ki Shaadi is set to release soon on May 8, but it has already landed in controversy. The film has been facing plagiarism claims, with comparisons being made to a Pakistani telefilm of the same name, Dadi Ki Shadi. Amid the growing buzz, actress Sadia Khateeb has responded to the allegations and clarified the situation.
Sadia Khateeb Reacts to Daadi Ki Shaadi Copy Claims

Sadia Khateeb has strongly denied the plagiarism rumours surrounding Daadi Ki Shaadi. Addressing the issue, she said that the film’s title was announced much earlier. In an interview, she shared, “We had announced the title in December 2025 when we began shooting. The Pakistani telefilm came later.”

The actress clearly stated that both projects are completely different. She said, “We haven’t copied anything from anyone. The story is entirely different from the Pakistani telefilm.” According to her, the comparison is only based on the title, while the content and narrative do not match at all.

Daadi Ki Shaadi Screening And Release Plans
Ahead of its release, a special screening was held on May 5, attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and veteran actress Rekha, along with members of the Kapoor family. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on May 8, 2026.
