On Friday, April 17, 2026, the official Instagram handle of The Academy, the organisation behind the Oscars, shared a legendary clip from the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om.
The featured scene showcases Shah Rukh Khan delivering his iconic award-acceptance monologue. The Academy captioned the post with a poignant note, "One thing about destiny… it doesn’t miss."

Meanwhile, the post quickly caught the attention of the King of Bollywood himself. Taking to his social media handles on April 18, 2026, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his deep gratitude for the international recognition. Sharing a screenshot of the post, the actor wrote, "Thank u @TheAcademy for sending me down memory lane with Om’s speech… now I truly feel like the King of the world. Ha ha"

Director Farah Khan, who helmed Om Shanti Om, also shared her excitement on Instagram Stories. Referencing another famous line from the film, she added the hashtag "picture abhi baaki hai mere dost" and wrote, "I want to thank The Academy and all those who forwarded this post to me"

Released in November 2007, Om Shanti Om was a monumental success that blended romance, revenge, and nostalgia for the 1970s era of Indian cinema. Most notably, the film marked the Bollywood debut of Deepika Padukone. To mark its 15th anniversary in 2022, the film was re-released in theatres across 20 Indian cities, proving its enduring popularity among fans.
What’s Next For Shah Rukh Khan?
Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in the record-breaking Jawan, which recently earned him a National Film Award for Best Actor. Fans are now eagerly awaiting his next film, King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The project marks Suhana Khan's big-screen debut, and also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Jaideep Ahlawat. King is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
Additionally, Farah Khan has earlier confirmed she will begin work on a new collaboration with Shah Rukh later this year.
