Gullak Season 5 Announced: The heartwarming web series on Mishra family is set to return, but with a significant change that has surprised many fans. The fifth season of the popular family drama, Gullak, has been officially announced by Sony LIV and The Viral Fever (TVF). While the show is famous for its relatable stories, the makers in this season have made a major casting change for one of the lead characters.
Gullak Season 5 OTT Release
In a surprising turn of events, Maamla Legal Hai web series actor Anant V Joshi has joined the cast as Anand (Annu) Mishra, the eldest son of the family. He replaces Vaibhav Raj Gupta, who played the character across the previous four seasons.
Anant V Joshi, known for his work in movies and web series Ajey, 12th Fail, Kathal and others expressed his excitement about joining such a beloved franchise. In an official press note, he shared his personal connection to the show, "Gullak has always felt very close to my heart because the Mishras remind me so much of our own families, their warmth, little moments, conversations, and the simplicity with which they touch people's lives."

The Maamla Legal Hai actor further added, "Stepping into Annu Bhaiya's journey has been an exciting experience for me, especially because this season explores a more mature and evolving side of his life."
Gullak Season 4 Recap
Meanwhile, to understand where Season 5, take a look back at the emotional finale of the previous instalment. Gullak Season 4 focused heavily on Aman Mishra (Harsh Mayar) hitting puberty and the growing pains that come with it. After a major misunderstanding led to Santosh Mishra (Jameel Khan) slapping Aman, the family faced a moment of crisis.
Gullak season 4 ended with a beautiful reconciliation at a bus stand, where Annu comforted a heartbroken Aman. The family eventually decided against moving to a new house, choosing instead to stay in their memory-filled home. The finale saw the boys convincing their parents to take a well-deserved trip to Goa, marking a shift where the children and parents started becoming more like friends.
