Ever wondered how educated your favourite South Indian stars are? While some actors knew early on that cinema was their calling, others spent years studying or working regular jobs before entering the film industry. Dhanush began acting at a young age, Rajinikanth worked as a bus conductor, and Karthi completed a master’s degree abroad before making his mark on screen.
For many movie stars, education has been crucial to their life. Some decided to finish their degrees before entering the film industry, while others dropped out of school to explore opportunities in the film industry.
From Allu Arjun and Mahesh Babu to Prabhas and Vijay, several South Indian stars have balanced education and career choices in their own way. Here’s a look at the educational qualifications of some of the biggest names in the industry:
Education Qualification Of South India Superstars
Prabhas
Prabhas attended the DNR School in Bhimavaram for his education. He graduated from Sri Chaitanya College in Hyderabad with a B.Tech. He followed his interest in performing after earning his B.Tech. Additionally, he graduated from Visakhapatnam's Satyanand Film Institute.
Allu Arjun
Allu Arjun finished his studies at Chennai's St. Patrick School. After that, he continued his education and graduated from MSR College in Hyderabad with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).
Mahesh Babu
Mahesh Babu earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Loyola College in Chennai after completing his secondary school at St. Bede's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai. He spent three to four months receiving more acting instruction after graduating.
Thalapathy Vijay
Vijay first attended Kodambakkam's Fathima Matriculation Higher Secondary School before transferring to Virugambakkam's Balalok Matriculation Higher Secondary School. He attended Loyola College to get a degree in Visual Communications, but he left because he was more interested in acting.

Dhanush
Dhanush completed online learning and graduated from Madurai Kamaraj University with a Bachelor of Computer Applications, despite failing to finish his college. The actor attended several schools, including JRK Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Vadapalani, Chennai, St. John's Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Alwarthirunagar, and Thai Sathiya Matriculation High School in Saligramam.

Thalaivar Rajnikanth attended Bangalore's Gavipuram Government Kannada Model Primary School. His brother enrolled him in the Ramakrishna Math, a Hindu monastery where he learned about history, customs, and the Vedas.
The superstar attended Acharya Pathasala Public School to get his education. He worked as a bus conductor and coolie after finishing school. His acting career began after he enrolled in an acting course at the recently established Madras Film Institute.

Chiranjeevi
In the early 1970s, Chiranjeevi, an NCC cadet, took part in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. He completed his intermediate education at Ongole's C. S. R. Sarma College. He graduated from Sri Y N College in Narsapuram with a degree in business. In order to pursue an acting career, he enrolled in the Madras Film Institute in 1976 after graduating.
Nagarjuna
Nagarjuna attended Little Flower Junior College in Hyderabad for his intermediate studies after completing his education at Hyderabad Public School. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan, after completing a year of mechanical engineering at the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University in Madras.
Rana Daggubati

Rana Daggubati attended Hyderabad Public School and Chettinad Vidyashram for his education. He enrolled in St. Mary's College in Hyderabad for a B.Com., but he left after just two months. After that, he attended Chennai Film School, where he earned a degree in industrial photography. He attended the Barry John School of Acting to hone his acting abilities. He received training from a stunt academy as well.
Karthi
Karthi attended Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan and St. Bede's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai for his basic and secondary schooling. He graduated from Crescent Engineering College in Chennai with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Following graduation, he was awarded a scholarship to pursue a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering at Binghamton University in New York.
