The release of the first trailer for Dune: Part Three marks the beginning of the final chapter in one of the most ambitious sci-fi trilogies in modern cinema. After months of silence, the film’s campaign has finally started, with new character posters and fresh story details from director Denis Villeneuve. The third film continues directly from the events of Dune: Part Two. Paul Atreides, played by Timothee Chalamet, has taken control of Arrakis, claimed the imperial throne, and launched a Fremen holy war. Unlike the earlier films, this chapter is expected to explore the burden of leadership rather than conquest.
The main cast returns, with Zendaya reprising her role as Chani. Her relationship with Paul becomes more complex as she questions his growing authority. Florence Pugh also returns as Princess Irulan, who enters a political marriage with Paul and plays a key role within the royal court. Anya Taylor-Joy appears as Alia Atreides, a powerful and unusual figure, while Rebecca Ferguson returns as Lady Jessica. Speaking about her limited role, Ferguson said, "I just dipped my toe in. I have no, sort of, comments on it," and added, "I don’t even think [Lady Jessica] was supposed to be in 3. And then Denis was like, ‘I need to have one scene,’ and I get one scene."

Among Paul’s allies, Javier Bardem returns as Stilgar and Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck. Jason Momoa also returns as Duncan Idaho, who is brought back as a clone. The new antagonist is played by Robert Pattinson as Scytale, a shape-shifting manipulator involved in a conspiracy against Paul. Isaach de Bankolé joins as Farok, offering insight into how the war changes Fremen society.

The first-look images show a darker version of Paul, with visible scars and a more intense appearance. The trailer is expected soon, hinting at a shift in tone as the story explores power, faith, and rebellion. Filming began in July 2025 and wrapped in November. The film is set to release in December 2026, bringing the epic saga to a dramatic close.
