Drishyam 3 Casting: The third instalment of Ajay Devgn's hit franchise Drishyam has been making headlines ever since its announcement. Soon after, reports of Akshaye Khanna's departure from the franchise following Dhurandhar's success surfaced and grabbed attention. This was followed by rumours of him being replaced by actor Prakash Raj. Amid the casting speculation, Prakash confirmed his involvement in Drishyam 3, revealing the shooting details. He also dismissed the replacement rumours, stating that he is not replacing anyone.

Prakash Raj took to X and announced that he has started shooting for the Hindi version of Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn. His post read, "Started shooting for this engaging franchise #Drishyam3 in Hindi. With a wonderful team and a scintillating role to play. I'm sure you will love it."

Addressing the rumours of replacing Akshaye Khanna, the actor added, "(And yes, I'm not replacing anyone.."

Following this, several curious users questioned whether Akshaye is still part of the franchise. One X user wrote, "Is Akshaye Khanna still part of the project? #justaksing."

Earlier, reports of actor Jaideep Ahlawat replacing Akshaye in the movie had also surfaced, but were later clarified by Drishyam 3 director Abhishek Pathak.

Akshaye Khanna joined the Drishyam franchise in its sequel, where he played a senior police officer who reopens the long-buried case of Vijay Salgaonkar and his family, intensifying the investigation. While the core cast is set to return for Drishyam 3, Akshaye Khanna, not reprising his role, left fans disappointed, especially following his performance in Dhurandhar.

About Drishyam 3

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 3 is written by Aamil Keeyan Khan, Parveez Shaikh, and Pathak. The list of producers includes Alok Jain, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Ajit Andhare.  Ajay Devgn will reprise his role as Vijay Salgaonkar alongside Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav, who portray his on-screen wife and daughters, as seen in the first two parts. Tabu and Rajat Kapoor will also be part of the cast.

The movie is an adaptation of a Malayalam crime thriller, directed by Jeethu Joseph, starring Mohanlal, which is scheduled to release in April 2026 ahead of the Hindi version. Ajay starrer is slated for a theatrical release on October 2, 2026.
