Daayra Poster Out: The makers of the upcoming crime thriller Daayra have officially unveiled its striking first poster. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, the film features Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran facing off across a police line, offering a dark and gripping glimpse into an intense investigation.
The film marks the very first on-screen collaboration between Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Jointly backed by Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios, Daayra reunites Meghna Gulzar with Junglee Pictures following their previous successful collaborations, Talvar and Raazi. The project is officially scheduled to hit cinemas nationwide on September 18, 2026.

Kareena Kapoor Khan And Prithviraj Sukumaran Face Off In Meghna Gulzar's Thriller
The newly dropped visual keeps things simple yet deeply suspenseful. In the poster, Kareena Kapoor Khan appears dressed in khaki as a police officer, standing across a crime scene opposite Prithviraj Sukumaran with yellow police tape dividing them.
The image hints at a complex narrative driven by conflict, high stakes, and the blurred lines between right and wrong. Rather than presenting the lead pair as conventional allies, the poster suggests they are caught on opposing sides of a sensitive police investigation.
The film is inspired by true events, exploring deep themes around law, punishment, and human morality. Written jointly by Yash Keswani, Sima Agarwal, and Meghna Gulzar, the story promises to present a layered mystery that keeps audiences guessing.

Prithviraj Sukumaran Teases Daryaa Plot
Speaking about his experience working on Daayra, Prithviraj Sukumaran expressed great enthusiasm for collaborating with Meghna Gulzar. He highlighted that one of the most compelling aspects of the screenplay is its refusal to take a pre-packaged stance on sensitive real-world topics.
Describing the film's narrative approach, Prithviraj stated, "Right till the last moment, it’ll keep asking you the question but not answer it for you."
In June, the production team kicked off its promotional campaign by releasing a behind-the-scenes video from the sets. Confirming the theatrical timeline, the makers captioned the BTS footage, "Towards our finish line. #Daayra in Cinemas on 18th September 2026."
With a powerful star cast, a gripping real-life premise, and a proven director at the helm, Daayra is rapidly positioning itself as one of the most anticipated Bollywood theatrical releases of the year.
