Actress Divya Bharti was 90s Bollywood sensation and highest-paid actress of the time. Bharti had it all, until one night when she had a tragic fall which changed everything in the Bollywood industry. On April 5, 1993, Bharti died under mysterious circumstances, leading to various conspiracy theories. Later, it was declared that the late actress died after falling from the balcony and it was officially ruled as an accidental fall.

While in her flat with guests (including designer Neeta Lulla and her husband) and the maid, Divya reportedly went near the window of the living room, which lacked a safety grill, to check if her husband's car had arrived. She lost her balance and fell to the ground below. She suffered massive head injuries and was rushed to the Cooper Hospital, where she was declared dead upon arrival.

Sajid Nadiadwala, Divya Bharti's husband, faced suspicion over her death, but those close to him dismissed the rumours, describing him as 'devastated' by her passing, as revealed by Divya's close friend and actress, Guddi Maruti. According to a report in ETimes, Maruti had said, "Sajid was like... gone. He was in bad shape. He wasn’t even home when the incident happened. Divya bent down from her window to see if Sajid’s car had come, and that’s when she fell down. Neeta Lulla was there. They were talking when Divya turned, looking for the car, and Neeta saw her falling down."

Her sudden and tragic passing at such a young age shocked the entire nation. To this day, her death remains one of Bollywood's biggest mysteries. While the Mumbai Police officially closed the case in 1998, ruling it an accidental death, the lack of conclusive evidence sparked countless rumors, theories, and conspiracy speculations over whether it was an accident, suicide or foul play.
