Following the record-breaking success of the Dhurandhar franchise, Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar are reportedly planning to collaborate for a third time. While the duo has not yet made an official announcement, industry insiders suggest that their next big-budget venture is scheduled to begin filming in the first half of 2027.

Aditya Dhar, the creative mind behind the duology, has reportedly started developing a fresh concept. According to a report in Pinkvilla, Ranveer Singh is currently the frontrunner to lead this untitled project. The filmmaker is said to be working on a fresh idea and plans to take the movie to the sets by March 2027.

Discussing the upcoming project, the report stated, “Aditya Dhar has cracked an idea and is currently working on it. He’s excited about the concept and is developing it actively, with a plan to start the film by March 2027.” While the plot remains a closely guarded secret, there is significant speculation regarding the genre. Some suggest Dhar may finally revive his long-gestating passion project, The Immortal Ashwatthama, while others hint at a historical drama centred on the founder of the Maurya Empire or even a gritty sports drama.

Dhurandhar Box Office Collection

The Dhurandhar film series has collectively grossed over Rs 3,000 crore worldwide, making it one of the most successful franchises in Indian cinema history.

Dhurandhar (2025): The first instalment minted over Rs 1,000 crore, introducing audiences to Hamza (played by Ranveer Singh), a secret Indian agent on a perilous mission in Pakistan.

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge (2026): The sequel, which was released earlier this year, has already exceeded Rs 1,780 crore worldwide as of late April.

Dhurandhar franchise is known for its high-stakes espionage and gritty realism, featuring a strong supporting cast including R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun.
