Patriot Movie Review: The highly anticipated Malayalam film Patriot finally arrived in cinemas on May 1, 2026. This project has created a massive buzz because it brings together the two biggest legends of Mollywood: Mammootty and Mohanlal for the first time in over a decade. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the film also features an incredible supporting cast, including Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, and Revathi.
Patriot Twitter Review
As soon as the first shows ended, fans rushed to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts. While seeing the two superstars together was a dream come true for many, the overall response to the film has been mixed. Some viewers loved the serious tone, while others felt the story was a bit confusing.
One fan who enjoyed the film tweeted, "#Patriot is a complete Mahesh Narayanan film that leans heavily into its theme highlighting a strong and dangerous threat every citizen should be aware of. The narrative stays grounded and focused, never drifting into unnecessary distractions." Another supporter called the film a "perfect gathering of seniors!" and added that it was "a treat watching the Big Ms share screen space again - their chemistry still hits strong."

#Patriot has an interesting first half so far. It’s more of a slow burn thriller without many mass or elevation moments, but the plot is engaging and the character development has been really good. The interval punch was really good too.

However, not everyone was impressed. Some viewers felt the movie was only an average experience. One user wrote, "#Patriot somewhere in the middle. Felt like a passable watch. Honestly, I doubt they clearly conveyed the actual message they were trying to tell."
#Patriot - Torture!

Movie had a good storyline and message but the lengthy duration and zero high moments makes this a tiring and terrible watch! Average First Half followed by a below average second half! Poor Music,Poor Editing and Worst screenplay! Wasted a Golden Opportunity pic.twitter.com/8RHrPKkVEu
#Patriot : A two minute informative ad/reel made into a three hour long film. The core might be an interesting one line on paper but it is terribly executed. Strong production values. Uninteresting and poorly written characters. Average background score. Boring action sequences.… pic.twitter.com/kwO6AQqnb3
