UPSC Prelims 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is expected to release the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026 admit card around 10–15 days before the exam scheduled on May 24, 2026. Candidates who have registered for the exam will be able to download their e-admit card from the official website upsc.gov.in once the link becomes active.

The UPSC Prelims Admit Card 2026 will be available only in online mode, and no physical copy will be sent by post. Candidates must log in using their Registration ID or Roll Number along with their Date of Birth to access and download the hall ticket. The admit card will contain important details such as the candidate’s name, exam centre, reporting time, exam timings, and instructions for exam day.

The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination will be conducted in two sessions on the same day. The morning session will include General Studies Paper I, while the afternoon session will have the CSAT (Paper II).

Steps to Download UPSC Prelims Admit Card 2026

Candidates can follow these steps to download their hall ticket once it is released:

Step 1: Visit the official website upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in.

Step 2: Click on the “Admit Cards” section on the homepage.

Step 3: Select “e-Admit Card: Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026.”

Step 4: Enter Registration ID/Roll Number, Date of Birth, and Captcha.

Step 5: Submit the details to access the admit card.

Step 6: Download the PDF and take a printout for exam day.

Candidates are advised to download the admit card early to avoid last-minute technical issues.

UPSC Prelims 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

UPSC has issued several important instructions for candidates appearing in the exam.

Candidates must carry a printed copy of the e-Admit Card along with a valid photo ID proof, such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card, or Voter ID. Entry to the examination centre will close 30 minutes before the exam begins, meaning candidates must reach before 9:00 AM for GS Paper I and 2:00 PM for CSAT.

Only a black ballpoint pen is allowed for marking answers on the OMR sheet. Candidates should also carefully read all instructions mentioned on the admit card and verify their exam centre details in advance to avoid confusion on exam day.
