UPSC CDS-1 Result 2026 Out: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially declared the results for the CDS 1 exam 2026, on May 8, 2026. The merit list has roll numbers of the selected candidates. A total of 8,826 candidates have qualified for the next stage of the selection process, i.e., the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview. The interview will be conducted by the Ministry of Defence.
The exam was held on April 12, 2026 to fill 451 vacancies. The English subject exam was conducted from 9 AM to 11 AM, general knowledge from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, and elementary mathematics from 4 PM to 6 PM.
UPSC CDS-1 Result 2026: How To Download Merit List?
Here’s how you can access the merit list PDF:
Step 1: Go to the UPS official website at upsc.gov.in.
Step 2: Under the “What’s New” section, select the “Written Result: Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2026”.
Step 3: The result PDF will appear on the screen.
Step 4: Use Ctrl+F to search your roll number in the PDF.
Step 5: If your name appears, that means you have successfully qualified for the SSB interview.
Step 6: Download the PDF for future reference.

UPSC CDS 1 Exam 2026: SSB Interview
Those who have qualified the written exam and selected Army (IMA/OTA) as their first preference must register themselves on the Indian Army recruitment website. Upon successful registration, candidates will get the interview call-up details. Already registered candidates need not to register again. In case of any changes in address, the commission has directed the candidates to immediately inform the concerned Army, Navy, or Air Force headquarters.
UPSC CDS 1 Exam 2026: Key Dates
For IMA and INA candidates, documents must be submitted by January 1, 2027. Candidates choosing the Air Force Academy have to submit their respective documents by November 13, 2026. The deadline for SSC courses at OTA is April 1, 2027. UPSC has advised candidates not to send original certificates to the commission.
