UGC NET June 2026 Notification: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the official notification for the June session 2026, detailing exam dates, registration process, fee and other information. Candidates must read the eligibility criteria thoroughly before applying. The registration link will open post the official notification. 

UGC NET is conducted twice a year, i.e., June and December sessions. Shortlisted candidates will be eligible for the Indian nationals for 'award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor', 'appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD' and 'admission to PhD only' in Indian universities and colleges. Candidates must select the subjects as per their post graduation only. For the December exam cycle, NTA conducted the UGC exam for 85 subjects.

UGC NET June 2026 Notification: Steps To Download PDF

Candidates can follow the given steps to download the notification PDF:

Step 1: Go to the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the “UGC NET notification” link.

Step 3: The notification PDF will appear on the screen.

Step 4: Download it and save it for future use. Check key details carefully.

UGC NET June 2026 Registration 

The online registration will commence soon after the notification has been released. Eligible candidates must visit the official portal and complete their applications with required information. Upload all mandatory documents and pay the registration fee. After cross-verifying the details, submit the form. The official UGC NET June 2026 exam dates will be notified on the official portal.

UGC NET June 2026 Exam: Who’s Eligible?

Candidates must meet the following UGC NET eligibility criteria before applying for the UGC NET 2026 June session:

Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks

OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender

Minimum 50% aggregate marks

Final Year Students

Can apply provisionally

4-Year Bachelor’s Degree

Candidates with a 75% aggregate in a 4-year/8-semester UG program are eligible for JRF and PhD only (not Assistant Professor)

2. Age Limit (As of June 1, 2026)

  • Assistant Professor & PhD: No upper age limit.

  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF):

  1. Unreserved: Max 30 years.

  2. OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Women/Third Gender: Max 35 years.

  3. LLM Degree holders: Max 33 years.
