TNEA 2026 Registration Deadline:  The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu, has extended the online registration deadline for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026. The application portal will close on June 5, 2026, providing aspiring engineering students with additional time to complete their applications. However, applicants can upload the documents till June 6, 2026, through the official portal. The certificate verification will begin on June 8 at the TNEA Facilitation Centres (TFCs). The random number used for tie-breaking in rankings will be issued on June 10, and the rank list is expected later this month.

TNEA 2026 Registration: Steps To Apply

Candidates can complete their registration using the following steps:

Step 1: Go to the official website at tneaonline.org.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the B.E./B.Tech Registration 2026 link.

Step 3: Enter your mobile number and email ID to register.

Step 4: You will get your login credentials. 

Step 5: Log in using your login details and fill in your personal and academic information.

Step 6: Pay the application fee.

Step 7: Review all details carefully before the final submission.

TNEA 2026 Application Fee Details For Reserved Categories

The authority has outlined the registration fee structure for the reserved-category candidates. Applicants belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category have to pay Rs 250 as registration fee, while ST candidates are required to pay Rs 500. 

Unlike several entrance exams, TNEA does not conduct a separate entrance examination. Admission to engineering courses is granted based on the 12th-class marks. To prepare the merit list, a normalisation process is used. The counselling will be held entirely in online mode through the official portal, including registration, document verification, publication of rank lists, choice filling, seat allotment, confirmation of seats, and reposting to colleges.
