Earlier, schools were scheduled to reopen on June 12. However, with the second Saturday and Sunday falling immediately after the reopening date, the Education Department decided to extend the holidays by three more days. The move aims to ensure a smoother start to the new academic session while providing relief to students and school staff.

Telangana Extends Summer Holidays Till June 15
The Telangana government has officially announced the extension of summer vacations for all government and private schools across the state. As per the revised schedule, schools will remain closed until June 15. Students are expected to return to classrooms after the extended break.
Why Was the Decision Taken?
The decision was influenced by the continuing summer heat conditions and requests from parents' associations and teachers' groups. Authorities felt that reopening schools on June 12 would be less practical since schools would observe holidays again on June 13 (second Saturday) and June 14 (Sunday).
Considering these factors, the Education Department decided to extend the vacation period to provide greater convenience and comfort to students, teachers, and parents.
Academic Calendar Adjustments Announced
To compensate for the loss of instructional days caused by the extension, the Education Department has modified the academic calendar. Officials have directed schools to observe July 11, which falls on the second Saturday, as a working day.
Regular classes will be conducted on that day to ensure that academic activities continue as planned and syllabus completion is not affected.
