NEET UG Re-Exam Guidelines 2026: The NEET UG exam 2026 was held on May 3, 2026, but was cancelled due to the paper-leak allegations that surfaced within a few days. Following this, NTA has announced the re-exam dates today, May 15, 2026, through its official handle. The NEET-UG exam will now be rescheduled for June 21st. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a press conference and provided information about the exam preparations and the ongoing investigation into the paper leak. He also made several important announcements for the candidates taking the NEET exam.

NEET UG Re-Exam Guidelines 2026: Major Announcements
Here are the big announcements made today for candidates taking the NEET UG exam on June 21. These rules aim to provide transparency to the examination process.
1. All candidates will receive their admit cards by June 14.
2. Candidates will be given a week's opportunity to choose their city of choice.
3. Transport will be arranged for the candidates.
4. Students will be given 15 minutes of extra time. The exam, which was scheduled from 2 pm to 5 pm, will now continue till 5:15 pm.
5. Fees will be refunded to students.
6. NEET examination will be held in CBT mode from next year to strengthen the examination process and prevent irregularities.
7. No fees for NEET retest on June 21.
What Education Minister Said On NEET Paper Leak?
Following the announcement of the re-exam dates for the NEET UG 2026, the Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, held a press conference and shared a major announcement regarding the NEET exam 2026.
On the issue of paper leak, he admitted that questions had gone out under the guise of "guess papers". Further, on the verification process, he added, "The process began on the morning of May 8 and continued through May 8, 9, 10 and 11. When we got clarity and were confirmed that questions had gone out this time on the basis of the leaked paper, we made a decision on May 12 in the interest of the students. We did not want any deserving candidate to be deprived of their rights because of the conspiracy of education mafias."
Taking full accountability, he said, "NTA is fully accountable... The NTA is in the hands of an able person... It has been formed with the recommendation of the Supreme Court and conducts examinations of nearly 1 crore students each year... We will ensure 0 errors in the NTA."
This morning, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the re-exam in a post on the social media platform X. In a post on X, the NTA wrote, "With the approval of the Government of India, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the NEET (UG) exam for Sunday, June 21, 2026. Candidates and parents are requested to rely only on official NTA channels." Further, it has asked students and parents to rely on its official channel for any updates regarding the exam.
