NTA NEET UG Exam 2026 DATE:  The National Testing Agency (NTA) originally canceled the May 3 exam and intended to announce a new date within 7 to 10 days. However, finding a suitable window in May is proving difficult because all upcoming Sundays are already booked for various national and state-level entrance examinations. Since NEET UG requires a massive number of government schools and colleges as centers, along with a high volume of invigilators, scheduling it on a non-Sunday is not feasible for ensuring center availability.

When Can Students Expect the Re-Exam Results and Counseling to Begin?

According to current reports, the NEET UG re-exam is now expected to take place in June. This shift means the results will likely be declared by mid-July, which would push the start of the counseling process to August.

Consequently, the start of the new academic session for medical students is expected to be delayed by approximately two months.

What Are the Next Steps for Registered Candidates Regarding Application and Admit Cards?

Students who previously registered for the May 3 examination do not need to undergo a new registration process; the original forms remain valid. The NTA will soon release an official notification on its website regarding the new examination date.
