NEET UG 2026 Exam: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an important advisory regarding biometric verification for NEET UG 2026 candidates. The NEET UG 2026 exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 3, 2026, across various exam centers in India. To ensure a smooth and fair examination process, NTA has introduced strict guidelines along with specific provisions for biometric exceptions. This move aims to support candidates facing technical or physical challenges during the verification process while maintaining the overall integrity of the medical entrance exam.

NTA has further emphasised that all question papers and confidential materials have already reached their destinations under the highest level of security. The agency has dismissed any claims of paper leaks, asserting that there is no possibility of early access to the examination materials. Candidates are required to follow all established protocols, including Aadhaar verification and the presentation of necessary documents like the admit card and valid ID proof, to ensure a transparent and malpractice-free environment.

What are the Biometric Exception Rules?

Biometric verification is mandatory for all candidates before they enter the exam hall. However, if authentication fails due to device issues, poor data quality, or connectivity problems, candidates will still be permitted to appear for the exam. Additionally, those with a physical inability to provide biometric data will be granted entry after submitting a written undertaking provided at the center.

To maintain focus, no candidate will be disturbed for biometric verification during the active exam hours of 2 PM to 5 PM.

What are the exam day guidelines?

NTA has introduced strict measures, including AI-based surveillance and a zero paper leak policy, to govern the exam on May 3. Candidates must carry their admit card, a valid photo ID proof, and the required self-declaration form to the venue. PwD and PwBD candidates are eligible for an extended exam duration, which may last until 6 PM.

These security measures are designed to ensure that the confidential materials are handled securely and that the examination process remains fair for all aspirants.

How is Paper Security Being Managed?

The NTA confirmed via an official statement on April 29, 2026, that all examination materials have safely reached their final destinations.

The agency has implemented the highest level of security to prevent any possibility of paper leaks or unauthorized early access.

Aspirants are urged to ignore any rumors or false claims circulating on social media regarding the sanctity of the question papers.

The focus remains on maintaining a secure, AI-monitored environment to protect the hard work of millions of medical aspirants.
